For my olfactory canal, the smell of lemons is the smell of clean.

Here’s some magic you can work with lemons and their lemony freshness.

1. Rub a lemon on your faucets to remove lime scale, hard water stains, and soap residue. Good news: it also works on porcelain.

2. Wanna be delicate to your delicates? Instead of using bleach, soak your…umm…delicates…in a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda for at least half an hour before washing.

3. Clean up greasy gloppy messes by rubbing with half a lemon, then wiping with a towel. For a more intense scrub, add some salt.

4. Polish all that copper you own by rubbing it with a lemon juice soaked cloth and buff it dry.

5. I have a mosquito problem at my house. I can’t walk outside after 4 pm without getting assaulted. To combat the little biting pests, rub fresh lemon peels on your skin.

6. Get rid of pit stains in your shirts by scrubbing them with a mix of equal parts lemon juice and water.

7. After cleaning out your oven you can diffuse the smell by baking lemon peels on low heat.

You actually don’t need to have just cleaned your oven to do this–do it anyway. It’ll smell tasty.

8. Make a natural furniture polish by combining 1 part lemon juice with 2 parts olive oil.

9. You can get rid of mildew and rust on clothes by making a paste of lemon juice and salt, then rub it on the areas. Let the clothes dry in the sun. Do this until the stain is gone.

10. Clean your drain by sending lemon peels through the garbage disposal. Your whole kitchen will smell great.
