Let’s cap off this week of tips and tricks–

–by diving into some general tips and tricks that aren’t product-specific.

1. To repair scratches on wood furniture, rub the scratch with a crayon the same color as the wood. This will fill the scratch. Then rub mayonnaise on it. The scratch will disappear.

It sounds revolting–but it’s worth a shot to fix that antique whatever that your kid might have ruined.

2. If your tomatoes are squishy, submerge them in cold salted water and leave overnight. They’ll be firm the next day.

5. Baking chocolate is different from other chocolate. If you’re out of (or forgot to buy) baking chocolate, mix a quarter tablespoon of  butter with a tablespoon of cocoa powder for every ounce of unsweetened baking chocolate needed.

6. If your hands smell funky after handling fish, lightly wet your hands, then rub them with baking soda and salt. Rinse away the salt, soda, and odors.

7. On the off-chance that you burn a sauce or gravy whilst cooking, pour it into a clean pan, add some sugar, then keep cooking. The sugar should remove the burnt taste.
